Web By Design, Inc. has a huge list of internet services and partners which collectively produce a vast force of productivity, ready to fulfill your vision. Our philosophy is this: There are a wide variety of clients who bring a wide variety of needs and desires to the table, and we’ve done our best to assemble a team of minds and resources to accomplish almost anything you might need. From e-commerce solutions, to domain services such as domain registration and FTP services, to visually-compelling additions such as professional digital photography and virtual tours, we really are your “one-stop-shop.”
I had the unique opportunity to be in the Wineman’s recent “Toast to Paso” commercial. Although it was tough work standing around in the park in downtown Paso Robles drinking wine for a couple hours, I’m happy to do my part to help promote our community and the amazing events we have here.
In an effort to become even more of a one stop shop for customers, Webeclectic.com will now add neurosurgery to our list of services that we offer. (Don't worry – I'm now fully trained after a 15 minute tour of Sierra Vista Hospital at the November San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce mixer.)
Okay, well, not really. But be sure to check out all the services that we do offer on our website (such as custom website design, WordPress blogs and social media setup for Facebook and Twitter): webeclectic.com.
At a recent online marketing seminar about email newsletters and social media, the presenter, Kelly Flint of Constant Contact, compared social media such as Facebook and Twitter to a cocktail party with short informal conversations, and email newsletters to a dinner party with more in depth discussions.
There’s a variety of low cost and even free tools that can help you to more effectively use email marketing and social media to promote your business and engage with your customers. For example, email marketing services such as MailChimp.com and ConstantContact.com have built in tools that let you automatically share your newsletters on Facebook and Twitter, as well as track which of your customers visits each social media site. Services like NutshellMail.com can bring a summary of your social network updates to your inbox in a single email that you can schedule.
In the coming months, Webeclectic.com will be focusing on best practices, tips and tricks on how to use social media for online marketing, and general netiquette issues that will help keep you compliant with anti-spam laws and keep your customers happy.
Darcie Fulkerson, Owner and Founder of Webeclectic.com, volunteered for Hospice of San Luis Obispo County to help hand out beer steins to the stampede of attendees at Oaktoberfest 2010. The event was held in Avila Beach this year, and thankfully provided multiple shuttles for safe rides home (absolutely crucial, especially since a few of the attendees were already completely smashed upon arriving and claiming their beer steins).
Volunteering for these events is so much fun, especially meeting new people like Judy (see photo above) – the 1st place winner of the 2010 Oaktoberfest costume contest. She was wearing an authentic dirndl from Germany that she wore at her wedding. Very cool.
Darcie Fulkerson, Owner and Founder of Webeclectic.com, volunteered to help out at the 2010 Beers and Bites event in Mission Plaza on Saturday, September 5th by pouring beer for Cayucos Brewing Company. The event not only involves a variety of different beers from several local breweries (including some, uh, … very unique varieties), but gourmet food from local vendors as well.
I was inspired by seeing all the fun, crazy beer related t-shirts being worn in honor of the event, including the “Beer is proof that God loves us” t-shirt at Central Coast Brewing, as well as the Goldilocks and the three bears with a beer bong t-shirt worn by a random beer taster. Nice. It might be time for a new, edgier Webeclectic.com t-shirt for the next event… – Darcie Fulkerson
As the owner and founder of Webeclectic.com, I was honored to have been invited to participate as a panelist in The Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour at Cuesta Colege, the first-ever national collegiate entrepreneurship tour. This organization was founded by award-winning 26-year-olds, Michael Simmons and Sheena Lindahl of Extreme Entrepreneurship Education, and is comprised of many of America’s top young entrepreneurs who’ve made, earned, or sold a company for millions and/or made a huge impact before the age of 30! The vision of the tour is for all of America’s college students to graduate with an entrepreneurial mindset. It was such a great experience to be able to answer questions from college students, emerging entrepreneurs, and professors who wanted to inspire students to start their own businesses. - Darcie Fulkerson Owner & Founder, Webeclectic.com
On April 17, 2008, Darcie Fulkerson was awarded the “2008 SBA Central California Woman In Business Champion of the Year” award for professional and civic service by the Fresno District Office of the U. During our interview, I asked her several questions regarding both real estate and business development. Here are the highlights of that conversation:
Kendra Todd got involved in the real estate industry after working as founding editor-in-chief of Capture Life, an award winning South Florida magazine. After interviewing countless real estate professionals and realizing the income and investment potential, she obtained her real estate license which currently hangs at ReMax Advantage Plus in Boca Raton, FL.
From the beginning, she has always focus on recession-proof pricing, getting investors into property that is reasonably priced enough to be somewhat insulated from changing market conditions.
“I buy real estate like most women buy shoes.”
- Kendra Todd, Winner of the 2005 season of Apprentice
Kendra originally went to the auditions for The Apprentice in order to recruit the most talented employees for her own company, a company that provides information about below market preconstruction, condo conversion and land opportunities for investors. She had designed flyers that said “You’re hired” and started handing as many out as possible to anyone who was there for the audition. Then she decided to go ahead and audition herself. Since she kept making it to the next level, eventually she stopped trying to recruit and focused on the audition process instead.
Kendra provided the following advice for those wishing to start or expand their own business:
Be different. Find a niche. Do it better than anyone else.
Be open to untraditional methods of marketing your business.
Don’t be afraid to invest in your business idea if it’s a solid concept.
Kendra Todd is also “Special Agent 53″ on My House, Florida’s #1 real estate investment radio talk show.
